A vegan fudge shop which is opening in the heart of Brighton is inviting people to make "funny" job applications. The Fudge Patch, which makes "traditional, handmade slab fudge" in Greenwich market, is now opening a branch in Bond Street. The shop will move into the unit which previously housed Stay in Your Lane, a gender neutral vintage store which closed in October 2024.
Brighton: Stay in Your Lane closes after three years A notice in the shop window, which heralds the arrival of the fudge shop, claims to make "the best fudge you'll ever try". Fudge Patch makes around 12 flavours daily and the fudge is made predominantly from rice milk as well as coconut milk. The notice invites people to make a funny job application (Image: Argus staff) "We do this for the simple reason that it tastes so much better.
Really it does," said the business's bosses. "These milks don't burn and curdle like dairy and so the flavour of the fudge is pure. "Honestly, it's better; don't believe us? Well come to the shop and we'll let you try it all for free.
" The notice invites humorous job applications. "I'm going to need someone to sell fudge," it said. "Jobs! Email me something funny.
" The notice ends with a tongue-in-cheek sign off: "Love Patch BsC (Bronze Swimming Certificatte)." Brighton is home two fudge shops currently: Roly's Fudge Pantry in Kensington Gardens and Sweet Williams Fudge Shop in Meeting House Lane..
