A new football and arts project for LGBTQIA+ young people has launched. Pride in the Shirt, based in Hampshire, started on Monday, March 31, to coincide with International Transgender Day of Visibility. The free group, hosted at Totton AFC, aims to provide a safe, inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ young people to be active and creative.

The project is supported by Hampshire FA, Culture in Common, the Football Supporters Association, AFC Totton in the Community, Southampton Pride, and the John Hansard Gallery. Each weekly session will run from 6pm to 9pm and include a coached football session followed by a creative session. The group's creations, including their own football kit design, will be showcased in an exhibition at the John Hansard Gallery in Southampton during Pride Month 2025.

The free group is open to LGBTQIA+ young people aged 16 to 25. All footballing and creative abilities are welcome. You can sign up online or email prideintheshirt@gmail.
