THE organisers of an inaugural Essex festival which will see many famous faces perform across a string of dates are appealing for charity sponsors. Chelmsford City Live is taking place at Chelmsford City Racecourse from July 4 until July 6. American megastar Justin Timberlake will headline the first night of the event along with support from Jesss Glynne, Dagny and ctrl.

80s music legends Duran Duran will headline the second night with support from the iconic disco group Nile Rodgers & Chic. Witham popstar Olly Murs will close Chelmsford City Live with supporting acts Blue, Lemar and a DJ set from former The Only Way is Essex star Mark Wright. The festival is a partnership between Chelmsford City Racecourse and Live Nation promoters Cuffe and Taylor.

The event organisers are now encouraging charity groups to apply to become a partner for each day of the festival. Three successful charities will then be invited to fundraise on site during the event. Cuffe and Taylor promoter Ben Hatton said: “We’re very excited to be inviting charity partners to join us for the inaugural Chelmsford City Live.

“This is a brilliant opportunity for charities to not only raise vital funds but to highlight their work to tens of thousands of people attending the festival.” Head of Events at Chelmsford City Racecourse, Anthony Coleridge, said: “This is a great initiative which we anticipate will be of interest to charities across Essex. “We hope to be inundated with applications from people who want to raise money and raise their charity’s profile in the shadow of amazing musicians and singers.

” All charities must submit their applications by 5pm on March 28. To apply, visit form.jotform.
