The mixed-use regeneration project Station Hill will welcome "Angelos" and "1650 Coffee Co" later this year. Angelos, an Italian-style trattoria, has signed a 15-year lease for a 1,069 sq ft space on Friar's Walk. The eatery will serve as a casual café in the mornings, and transform into a neighbourhood restaurant in the evenings, serving an á la carte menu and an extensive wine list.

Owned by Angelo Colao, the restaurant will also function as a deli, offering Italian produce and wines. Mr Colao said: "We are exceptionally excited to be bringing Angelos to Station Hill and joining the vibrant community of the area. "Our vision is to create a welcoming space where guests can enjoy the true essence of Italian dining.

" 1650 Coffee Co, founded by the creator of Café Yolk, will also open on Friar's Walk. The independent coffee house aims to deliver a "hand-crafted coffee experience" and will offer a selection of teas, juices, smoothies, and food including pastries and sandwiches. The café will also serve alcoholic drinks, including coffee-inspired cocktails.

The founder of 1650 Coffee Co, Sunny, said: "I’m incredibly excited to introduce 1650 Coffee Co to Station Hill and to become a part of this growing community. "1650 Coffee Co is about more than just great coffee and food. "It’s about community.

" The new venues will join existing outlets Siren Craft Brew, Notes, and Kawaii. They will benefit from two acres of newly-opened public realm and landscaped areas, creating a connection between the mainline station and the town centre. Evan Reynolds, development director at Lincoln Property Company UK, said: "Angelos and 1650 Coffee Co perfectly embody the vibrant, high-quality offering we are bringing to Station Hill.

"Their arrival underscores our commitment to delivering a best-in-class destination in the heart of Reading. "We look forward to seeing those living and working in the area, as well as visitors to the town, explore these new eateries which are set to open later this year." The £850m Station Hill project is a mixed-use regeneration scheme by Lincoln MGT, featuring homes, office space, and food and beverage outlets.
