Coronation Street has welcomed a new cast member with the arrival of Jonathan Howard, who plays Carl Webster. Carl is Kevin and Debbie Webster’s younger brother, who has been mentioned in the ITV soap previously but was never seen on screen until now. The new star's arrival on the Cobbles comes after Kevin was diagnosed with testicular cancer early in the year.

In 2013, he appeared in the Brad Pitt post-apocalyptic film, World War Z and in the same year, he starred alongside Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman in the Marvel hit, Thor: The Dark World, as Ian Boothby.
