The new Collège Charles III opened its doors on Monday, September 9, marking the start of the new school year for all 6th, 5th, 4th, and 3rd-grade public school students. The entrance is located on the plaza extending from the Promenade Honoré II, designed with a focus on pedestrian access. Unlike the former school building, the new facility is not accessible by car, and vehicle drop-offs will not be allowed near the entrance.

Instead, the primary access to the school will be via pedestrian routes, mainly from Promenade Honoré II, which leads directly to the school’s entrance. This promenade is well-connected by several CAM bus lines: These bus lines will be supplemented by special “school” routes to accommodate students during peak hours, with schedules and subscription details available on the CAM website. For those coming from Fontvieille, the preferred pedestrian access is through the Commercial Center to Promenade Honoré II, also accessible via Place du Canton.

From the Jardin-Exotique neighbourhood and Boulevard de Belgique, access will be via the Salines Gallery elevator and the new Wurtemberg footbridge. For cyclists, several Monabike self-service stations are located near the new school, including a primary station on Promenade Honoré II with 20 docking points. Additional parking for bicycles and scooters is available behind the school, near the Millenium building.

A car drop-off point is also available at the new Wurtemberg Parking lot on Avenue de Fontvieille, offering a free one-hour parking grace period. For more information and a detailed map of access points, visit the school’s website ..
