ZACHARY WOODARD made the difficult decision to close Zachary’s Chop House in Windham, but his food truck will roll on. The restaurant suddenly closed in September, with official notice coming a month later on Facebook. “This decision was not easy but taking care of our family comes first.
We have fought long and hard to keep going,” Woodard wrote. “We are deeply appreciative for your love and support over the years. It is time for us to move onto a new chapter in our lives.
” His food truck, ZW’s BBQ , will continue on with Woodard even going before the Windham’s zoning board for relief to sling his smoked meats from a church parking lot a “couple days a week.” The food truck specializes in smoked meats, BBQ and “everything grilled,” according to its Facebook. The North Ridge Church is located at 14 Cobbetts Pond Road, which is down the road from Zachary’s.
The schedule for ZW’s stops is posted on its Facebook page. He has a deal to park at another church in Pelham. Woodard said the food truck will park at the church during sporting events and “will be in a large parking lot with no traffic and safety concerns” to worry about.
“A variance would promote small business growth while providing a service to the community for different food options that are not available in the town,” Woodard wrote in his application. Woodard renovated The Lobster Tail into Zachary’s Chop House in 2020. The former Dockside restaurant in Alton is now PUB 23 and is operated by the owners of Pop’s Clam Shell nearby.
The place quietly opened Nov. 2 after a refresh of the space, including a new live edge wooden bar top. PUB 23 will operate year round, and is not just focused on seafood.
“We plan to bring the simple menu with a seasonal rotating drink and food menu. You can expect a full service dining room and bar that will be kept separate and not have overflowing noise into the dining room,” a Facebook post reads. “We will still strive to put the customer first as always.
From the time you step foot inside till the time you leave we hope you have a great experience.” One staple, the “Dockside Dan” haddock sandwich, will remain, according to the post. A new place to dine has arrived on South Willow Street in Manchester: The Halal Spot , which offers a new twist on New York-style street food.
The eatery is located at 1875 S. Willow St. near La Carreta Mexican Restaurant and Clemento’s Pizzeria .
The restaurant offered free food to first responders during its soft opening Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. Everyone got free samples on Friday.
The place has a creative slogan: “Food that hits.” Revo Casino has plans to completely rebuild its charitable gaming facility in Manchester, but its new restaurant, Rebels , is now open. The brand is also in Dover and Keene.
“Gather your friends for craft cocktails plus all your favorite drinks, sample our delectable appetizers, or enjoy one of our mouthwatering sandwiches or scrumptious pizzas! You’re sure to have a rebelliously good time!” its website reads. Some of the “revoriginals,” include flamin’ hot mac da lobsta bowl, which has white cheddar cheese sauce, cavatappi pasta, chunks of lobster, flamin’ hot cheetos ($29), clam baked cod ($16) and chicken tenders ($13). The restaurant brand will also come soon to its Conway and Lebanon locations.
