New burger restaurant Between Buns coming to Royston

A burger restaurant, Between Buns, has submitted an application to open in Royston.

Between Buns, which already has restaurants in Welwyn Garden City and Bishop's Stortford, has submitted a premises licence application for a new bar and restaurant at a two-storey premises at 11 Kneesworth Street. The restaurant was previously The Guard House Thai restaurant, which has permanently closed. A potential opening date has not yet been announced, and the consultation into the licensing application ends on Wednesday, May 21.

Between Buns is described as a "smokehouse-style burger and barbecue restaurant". The alcohol licence would allow for alcohol consumption on the premises seven days a week from midday to 11pm. A description of the restaurant on their website reads: "Indulge your burger cravings at Between Buns, where we elevate the classic comfort of a burger with the finest farm-fresh ingredients and a touch of inventive flair.



"Each bite is a celebration of flavors, showcasing our dedication to crafting mouthwatering burgers that go beyond the ordinary. " The menu features a mix of beef, chicken and veggie burgers, with a range of sides and soft drinks. Burgers come with onion rings, jalapenos, bacon and hash browns, and sides include chips, cheesy chips, hummus and pita, coleslaw and halloumi sticks. Between Buns also offers street food, with services available for private hire, events and corporate bookings.
