The University of Alabama student, Alireza Doroudi, who was detained by ICE earlier this month, has a new bond hearing scheduled this week. He'll have to sit in a Louisiana detention center a little longer. His lawyer's staff tells WVTM 13 in a statement, " During today’s bond hearing for Mr. Alizera Doroudi, Judge Maithe Gonzalez requested additional information from both parties before issuing a decision. A new bond hearing has been scheduled for Thursday at 3 p.

m. CT. Please note that late last week, most immigration master hearings—including Mr.

Doroudi’s—were canceled in favor of individual hearings. A date for Mr. Doroudi’s individual hearing has not yet been confirmed.

" ICE agents took the graduate student from Iran into custody. A statement from the department of homeland security said, Doroudi, "posed significant national security concerns." At the beginning of this month over 150 people, mixed with community members and university of Alabama students, gathered on the sidewalk in front of a federal courthouse in Tuscaloosa.

Those students were calling for transparency from school leaders. Days after that protest—WVTM 13 was able to obtain video from the city of Tuscaloosa showing ICE agents walking with Doroudi down reed street- appearing to cooperate with agents..
