Plans for a new youth club in Swindon have been given the green light, as a launch date is set. South Swindon Parish Council is currently responsible for two youth clubs in the town which councillors say have been a huge success. Now, a third club is about to launch at Badbury Park Community Hub.
The idea was given the green light during a full council meeting on Tuesday, April 22, and a launch date of September 2025 has now been set. Once up and running, the Badbury Park club will run alongside the existing Eastcott Youth Club which opened at Eastcott Community Centre in January 2024, and the Park North Youth Club which has been running on Whitbourne Avenue for the last two years. The club will be based inside Badbury Park Hub which opened its doors in 2023 (Image: Dave Cox) “We’re thrilled to expand our youth provision to Badbury Park," said Councillor Sam James, Chair of the Youth Working Party.
"The positive impact of our existing youth clubs has demonstrated the clear need for these spaces where young people can gather, make new friends, socialise, and most importantly, have fun.” A spokesperson for South Swindon Parish Council added: "We're pleased to announce the opening of a new youth club at the Badbury Park Community Hub, scheduled to launch in September 2025. "The new youth club represents a key milestone in delivering the Parish Council's Youth Strategy, which was agreed in October 2024.
" The Youth Strategy means the council has committed to consulting young people in Swindon about their priorities for provision, offering more outdoor activities for young people, creating more youth events, and setting up work experience and trainee opportunities in the parish council.
