
The Government Counsellor-Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Isabelle Berro-Amadei, hosted a luncheon at the Hôtel Hermitage to welcome four newly accredited ambassadors: Marie-Edith Tassyla-Ye-Doumbeneny of Gabon, Leena Al-Hadid of Jordan, Cynthia Filártiga-Lacroix of Paraguay, and Dhia Khaled of Tunisia. Earlier in the day, the diplomats presented their Letters of Credence to H.S.
H. the Sovereign Prince of Monaco. Marie-Edith Tassyla-Ye-Doumbeneny holds a Master’s degree in Spanish Civilisation from the University of Paris XIII-Villetaneuse and a specialised postgraduate diploma in political science from the Ecole des Hautes Etudes Politiques in Paris.
She joined the Gabonese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2000 and has held multiple key positions, including Cultural Counsellor at the Gabonese Embassy in Belgium, Director of Protocol, and Ambassador to Ethiopia, Kenya, and Tanzania. She also served as Gabon’s Permanent Representative to the African Union and the UN Economic Commission for Africa. From 2017 to 2019, she was Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
She has been Ambassador to France since January 2024. Leena Al-Hadid, a graduate in General Law from the University of Jordan, has been with Jordan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1995. She has extensive experience in human rights diplomacy, having served at Jordan’s Mission to the UN in Geneva and later as Deputy Director of the Human Rights and Human Security Department.
She was also Consul General of Jordan in Dubai and Director of International Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Between 2018 and 2022, she served as Jordan’s Ambassador to Austria, with non-resident accreditation to the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovenia. Cynthia Filártiga-Lacroix holds a degree in French and is an alumna of the Paraguayan Diplomatic Academy and the National School of Administration (ENA).
She has extensive experience in foreign relations, having served as Director of Europe, the Americas, International Cooperation, and Bilateral Policy at the Paraguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Her overseas postings include roles at Paraguay’s embassies in Colombia, Argentina, and Brazil. Dhia Khaled holds a Master’s degree in private law from the Faculty of Law in Tunis and an advanced studies diploma in legal sciences.
He joined Tunisia’s diplomatic service in 1997 and has held key positions, including Deputy Head of Mission at Tunisia’s Embassy in New Delhi and Economic Counsellor at the Tunisian Embassy in Madrid. He later served as Tunisia’s Ambassador to China and non-resident Ambassador to Vietnam, Cambodia, North Korea, Laos, and Mongolia. Since January 2024, he has been Tunisia’s Ambassador to France and its Permanent Representative to UNESCO and the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF).
