Arlington, we've got a newcomer in town for the 50-plus squad. ACTIV, the city's spanking-new 73,000-square-foot recreation center, is opening its doors at 2061 W. Green Oaks Blvd.

This isn't just a spot to lounge around. We're talking about a full-court gym, pickleball courts, and a fitness area that stays open until 8 p.m.

during the week. And for those more socially inclined, they've got your back with a lounge, billiards, events space, and arts and crafts until 5 p.m.

on weekdays.According to the City of Arlington press release, this past Wednesday, the grand opening pulled in hundreds of residents and city leaders. If you're already planning your summer, keep an eye out for ACTIV's natatorium opening with an indoor lap pool and hydrotherapy pool to beat that Texas heat.

And there’s more: if the inside doesn’t quite do it for you, there's an outdoor patio and trail, six additional pickleball courts, and yes, a community garden for your green thumbs. Now, let's talk membership because this place isn't funded by good vibes alone. If you're 50-59, it starts at $16 monthly for blue-tier access and bumps up to $32 for the full gold-tier experience.

As you get wiser in age, the price gets nicer, too. Adults from 60-79 start at $5, and Super Seniors over 80? You're looking at just $24 a year. And for non-Arlington residents, expect to pay about 30% more, but let's be real, it's still a steal.

More details on all this are available in the release from the Office of Communication..
