Kawasaki Z800 is an immensely popular middleweight street-naked that has found a number of buyers in India and worldwide. A replacement to the previously sold Z800, the Z900 simply took the performance to another level thanks to lighter bodyweight and a powertrain with more juice. Now the company has rolled out an updated version of the Z900 naked motorcycle, along with a higher-spec SE variant.

The latest 2025 model brings forward new improvements, including a fresh design language, better electronic features, and new components. As expected, the new Z900 gets a major design and styling overhaul. The new bike adopts a more angular and sharper look.

These advancements enable the inclusion of rider aids like multiple power modes, adjustable traction control, a bi-directional quick-shifter, cruise control, and dual-channel ABS. A new 5-inch TFT instrument cluster provides more detailed information and offers smartphone connectivity as well. While the 948cc inline-four engine remains largely unchanged, it has been tweaked to comply with stricter Euro 5+ emission norms, resulting in a slight reduction in peak power output.

The updated motor now delivers 123 horsepower and 97.4 Nm of torque. The bike's weight has increased marginally to 213 kilograms, and the seat height has risen to 830 millimeters.

The standard Z900 now boasts improved braking performance with twin 4-piston, radially-mounted Nissin calipers at the front. The switch to Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tires promises enhanced grip and handling. The suspension setup, comprising a 41mm USD fork and a monoshock unit, remains adjustable for rebound and preload.

The Z900 SE variant takes things a step further with fully adjustable KYB suspension and high-performance Brembo M4.32 calipers. Despite the added premium components, the SE model only weighs 1 kilogram more than the standard bike.

Kawasaki is likely to launch the new 2025 Z900 in India by next year and the bike will continue to rival the likes of motorcycles such as the Triumph Street Triple R and Ducati Monster. There is chance that the higher-spec SE may also find its way to the Indian market.
