Netmarble's new MMORPG, 'RF Online Next,' has once again secured the top spot in the Google Play Store sales rankings shortly after its first major update, proving its status as a leading title in the genre. According to reports from the gaming industry on April 14, 'RF Online Next' claimed the top position in both major markets just six days after its release on March 20. Following the first large-scale update on April 9, it regained the number one spot in the Google Play Store, entering a trajectory for long-term success.
The highlight of this update is the new content 'Mining War.' 'Mining War' is a large-scale war content where the best guilds on the server compete to claim the core growth resource, 'HolyStone.' Representatives from each in-game nation (Bellato, Acrasia, and Cora) are selected through a preliminary round, and the competition then progresses to a 'Nation War' aimed at destroying the opponent's 'mining machines,' ultimately determining the top guild on the server.
The first 'Mining War' is scheduled to take place on April 19, and applications for preliminary round participants are currently being accepted. As the guilds vie for supremacy, tension is high in anticipation of the first 'Mining War.' The guild victorious in the 'Mining War' will receive a share of the server's marketplace tax and acquire the special title 'First Conqueror' along with 'exclusive mining rights.
' Additionally, the seasonal world content 'Paradise Battle' added in this update has increased the competitive excitement among guilds in 'RF Online Next.' 'Paradise Battle' will host up to 200 players from a total of four guilds in a single battlefield, competing to seize the 'Paradise' located in a space station. Regular seasons are planned to follow a trial operation period and pre-season.
Meanwhile, the success of 'RF Online Next,' which has regained the top ranking in the Google Play Store, can be attributed to Netmarble's capabilities in mobile MMORPG services. The company has successfully launched several popular titles, including 'Lineage 2 Revolution,' 'Blade & Soul Revolution,' and 'Raven 2,' accumulating diverse technological expertise and know-how over the years. In terms of gameplay quality, unique features such as 'New Skills,' 'Flight,' and 'Free Job Change' composed of MAU, Launcher, and Animers have received positive feedback, along with praises for usability features and optimization.
Furthermore, prior to the game's launch, an active transmedia strategy was utilized to expand the game universe and maximize user expectations, with the web novel and webtoon based on the 'RF' IP, 'Bad Bone Blood,' also receiving favorable reviews..
