Netflix viewers have criticized a new medical series that has been branded the new Grey's Anatomy with some describing it as "terrible" and others saying it has made them "cringe." Pulse, which is set in a busy Miami trauma hospital called Maguire Medical Center, landed on the streaming platform yesterday. The 10-part drama follows third-year resident Dannielle 'Danny' Simms, who is unexpectedly promoted when chief resident Dr Xander Phillips is suspended, due to a colleague's report.
As the story unfolds, details of Danny and Xander's hidden romance emerge, revealing the struggles they have faced while working together . The official synopsis reads, "As a hurricane barrels towards Miami's busiest Level 1 Trauma Center, third-year resident Dr. Danny Simms is unexpectedly thrust into a promotion when beloved Chief Resident Dr.
Xander Phillips is suspended. "Amid the worsening storm and an onslaught of trauma cases, the hospital goes into lockdown, and Danny and Phillips must find a way to work together - even as the bombshell details of a complicated and illicit romance between them begin to spill out. The rest of the ER is left to process the fallout of their relationship while balancing their own challenges, both personal and professional, as they work under the pressure of life-or-death stakes.
"Because for this tight-knit group of doctors, saving their patients' lives is often less complicated than living their own." But just hours after Pulse was released, Netflix subscribers took to social media to share their thoughts - and many expressed their disappointment at the new series. A person wrote on X, "three episodes into #PulseNetflix and both main leads and the relationship between them is infuriating and i'm not into it at all.
" Another said, "#PulseNetflix acts like we've been watching it for years, and this is Season 10. Girl, who are these people, and why are they so dull?" Several people compared Pulse to The Pitt as one wrote, "Watching the dialogues and conversations of #Pulse, on #Netflix, after having seen #ThePitt, is honestly like a shock to the system, cause it makes you realise how incredibly refined the pitt is, while pulse is just regular uninspired tv." A Netflix user posted on Reddit, "Anyone seen the new show Pulse on Netflix? I saw the trailer and little snippet on the Netflix intro, and I cringed.
Is it terrible? Or should I give it a chance?" A person replied, "You should just watch the Pitt on Max." A second said, "It is terrible." Someone else said on the social media platform, "That show s---s.
They throw out so much medical lingo no casual knows what the h--- is happening. They do that to seem overly dramatic and smart but it's so pretentious." However, others had more positive thoughts on the series as one tweeted, "pulse is so good.
netflix did their thing with this one." Someone else expressed, "Pulse on Netflix is so good." A third fan added, "Okay @netflix with the medical drama, I'm loving #Pulse .
