Netflix ‘Test’ Movie Review: A fascinating look at India's beloved sports, cricket from the murky angle and how some things are controlled by the goons. Starring R. Madhavan, Nayanthara, and Siddharth, along with the ever-loved Meera Jasmine, this film marks a first-of-its-kind collaboration between these powerhouse performers and is also Netflix’s first original Tamil film of the year

Cricket is unforgettable and unforgiving. The movie talks about resilience and the choices that you make in life to reach your goal. There are many ways of interpreting Netflix’s Test .

But the most complex character is indeed played by the immensely talented craftsman R. Madhavan. There is nothing right or wrong about the character Saravanan (R.

Madhavan). Test is a human drama with a twist. Just like real characters there isn’t anything black or white, correct or wrong in it.

Everybody has their own point of view in real life and they believe that they are doing it right, so does Saravanan (R. Madhavan), Kumudha (Nayanthara) and Arjun (Siddharth). In this universe of unhealthy competition, nothing really works but the drive to win the ‘ Test ’ as the famous song goes The Winner Takes It All by Swedish pop group ABBA.

Test is Netflix’s first original Tamil film of the year. This movie by debutant director S. Sashikanth makes us believe that the world doesn’t exist in binary, it can be incredibly unreasonable.

There are millions of men who get defeated everyday and winning and losing are two sides of the same coin. Whether you are a hero or a villain, a king or an ordinary man, you will be pushed to the sea and tested. Test is indeed a compelling human drama where three lives intertwine beyond and because of the cricket field, each forced to make a choice that changes their lives and the lives of their loved ones too.

Immensely immersive, Test is a real test for how the human mind thinks and changes with time. Test is not just about cricket, it is about the test of human relations too and how it changes with time. Just the way how one shot decides your life and how timing is important, in the same way other career options like that of a Massachusetts Institute of Technology return scientist played by R Madhavan also decided his future.

Saravanan (R. Madhavan) is brilliant in his own ways and he wants to bring about a change in his country by his discovery. But there is no support coming from any corner.

The path he chooses to get money for his inventions is incorrect. His wife, Kumudha (Nayanthara) believes that to survive he needs to win. Kumudha (Nayanthara) often compares him with her schoolmate Arjun (Siddharth) who is a successful cricketer, but is going through a low phase in his career.

She calls him a winner and her husband a loser. This Netflix movie dives deep into the thrilling world of cricket and how stressful this game can be. I won’t say that the film is flawless or a masterpiece as compared to the movies and series shown on Netflix, but it truly deserves every bit of your time.
