Fans of the hit Netflix series The Recruit are ecstatic about the show's return , which premieres this week. The drama , starring Noah Centineo as CIA lawyer Owen Hendricks, initially debuted in 2022 and is now set to continue with a brand-new season starting on January 30. The upcoming episodes will feature award-winning South Korean actor Teo Yoo as Jang Kyun, alongside Centineo, and will follow Owen as he undertakes a perilous espionage mission in South Korea , uncovering a shocking revelation in the process.

Following the release of the first trailer, fans expressed their eagerness for the new season, with one stating: "I'm losing my mind waiting! start 3 asap! thank you." Another fan exclaimed: "Woow amazing I'm waiting for 30 January." A third fan echoed the sentiment, saying: "That looks really good, can tell it's gonna be a good classic," reports the Mirror .

Other viewers chimed in, praising the show and expressing their anticipation for the new season. However, some fans also expressed frustration with the three-year gap between seasons, warning that such a long hiatus could harm the show's momentum. The first season left viewers with a cliffhanger, as Owen and Russian asset Max Meladze (played by Laura Haddock) found themselves trapped in a basement by Karolina Lashin (also known as Nichka, played by Maddie Hasson), a member of the Russian mafia.

The fate of Max was left uncertain after Karolina fired her gun, leaving fans with unanswered questions. According to show creator Alexi Hawley, the second season will pick up where the first left off, providing fans with the answers they've been eagerly awaiting. Chatting with Netflix's Tudum about the upcoming season, Noah revealed: "Owen's headspace is complete chaos.

He has just witnessed Max - the former CIA asset whom he almost died multiple times trying to protect - get shot by her daughter Nichka. Owen is wondering how in the hell he is going to survive the next few seconds of his life." Alexi chimed in with: "We immediately throw Owen in the deep end, which is where he's the most fun.

It seemed like a great way to start Season 2 - and then we just never let our foot off the gas. Owen knows that if he does not walk away with a win this season, his career is going to be over. He might go to prison.
