‘I’ve so many words but very little to explain just how amazing this film is .. just watch it!’ advised Liz Cannings.

The 90-minute film is focused on the unexpected friendship between Mully, whose mum recently died from cancer, and Joy, a solicitor coming to terms with an unexpected birth later in life. The pair have a chance meeting when Mully (Charlie) realises his dad James (Lochlann) is stealing money raised at a charity event in Rita’s honour to pay off debts. Mully decides to grab the cash and dart off in a stationary taxi that had left its doors open.

Once already on the road, he is surprised to learn that a middle-aged woman in a drunken state called Joy (Olivia), and her newborn baby are in the backseat. Both hoping to escape, they take back roads to remain undetected. Their relationship begins as fraught, but soon, they find themselves bonding and through their friendship, they help each other with their unique predicaments.

Speaking about playing Joy, Olivia, 50 said: ‘I loved the character of Joy. She added (via Yours ): ‘I couldn’t get her out of my head once I’d read the script. I loved how it was all put together.

I loved the story and I really wanted to do it.’ More Trending Netflix thriller gives fans ‘knot in their stomach’ after it originally flopped Netflix fans baffled over Harry Potter star's age in unexpected Bridgerton role ‘Superb’ Netflix smash-hit thriller watched over 31,000,000 times in first three days Massive flop based on tragic 00s pop icon finds new life on Netflix ‘Joy is a solicitor. She’s very independent, quite fierce,’ she explained.

‘You find out a bit about her upbringing and her possible lack of love from her mum. I think that’s why she can’t settle with anyone. I think it’s all too hard.

And partly why she doesn’t want this baby is that she doesn’t want to be as bad as her own mum was and she’s terrified of that.’ Joyride is available to watch on Netflix. This story was originally published on August 8.
