Ludhiana: The police on Thursday night arrested a middle-aged man for raping a minor girl . The accused is around 41 years old and was her neighbour . The girl told the police that she used to often talk over the phone with the accused since 2022.
The girl said the accused had told her that he wanted to marry her. Last month, she said she was alone in the house when the accused came and did not leave despite being told by her in as many words. The accused then raped her, she said, adding that he also threatened her with dire consequences if she told anyone.
The complainant said she was scared and did not tell anyone about the incident and stopped talking to the accused on the phone. The girl told the police that the accused had been troubling her ever since. Cops have booked the accused under Pocso Act .
