Today looks to be a breezy but otherwise great start to the week around southeast Minnesota. Winds look to stay out of the southwest through the day at 10-20 mph. With that warming breeze, temperatures will look to rise into the mid-60s around Rochester, which could bring in record highs by a couple of degrees to stations around the region.
However, tomorrow night will have a cold front push into the region, and with the front, winds will shift to out of the northwest. Lows on the backside of the front will drop to the 20s for most of the region, and then winds calm a little by the start of tomorrow morning. ADVERTISEMENT Through the day Tuesday, we still have plenty of sun shining through, but highs remain in the mid-40s for a much cooler day.
Temperatures will rebound through the week, returning to the 50s and 60s, and even a few 70s possible by Friday. However, we are keeping an eye on a system at the end of the week that with that warm up could bring a rumble of thunder to the region, so that will be something we keep an eye on as the system develops out west through the week..
