NCIS spinoff gets Season 2 premiere date as network makes one major change

CBS revealed that NCIS: Sydney will be coming back for another season and they even divulged details about the premiere. Fans will have an opportunity to return Down Under.

After a successful first season, NCIS: Sydney will be returning to television . When the writers and actors' strikes made scripted content sparse last year, the spin-off took on CBS's primetime Tuesdays slot which typically was awarded to the main story. Now, the original version of the show is available for fans on Mondays at 9/8c.

They'll be booting NCIS: Sydney to a less popular time slot. Season 2 will premiere on Jan. 31, 2025.



It will air on Fridays at 8/7c. However, show will force S.W.

AT. out of its scheduled space, kicking back it to Fridays at 10/9c. Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment, previously spoke to the show's success.

In a statement, she said: "The global power of the NCIS franchise became even stronger on broadcast and streaming with the addition of NCIS: Sydney. Our American viewers have fully embraced these engaging characters, unique stories and the fabulous Australian scenery. We are thrilled to bring this show back to CBS next season and spend even more time down under.

There's no reason to believe yet that any of the cast is moving on to other pursuits, but that has yet to be confirmed. For now, though, fans can anticipate Oliva Swann, Todd Lasance, Sean Sagar, Tuuli Narkle, Mavournee Hazel, and William McInnes to make comebacks.

NCIS: Sydney is one of the many spin-offs in the franchise, but it's the first time they've taken the show fully international. It sees U.S.

NCIS agents partnering up with the Australian Federal Police working together to investigate naval crimes where occur at a hotly-contested part of the ocean. The new twist on the show allows viewers to immerse themselves in new territory, learning the ins-and-outs of international law and Australian authority. Plus, it introduces some new characters to the NCIS universe.

With fans fascinated with these new dynamics between the characters, they're hoping to get some answers when Season 2 launches. After all, Season 1 left off with some cliffhangers. JD, played by Todd Lasance, was left in a pecarious, life-threatening situation after he attempted to make a trade to get his son back.
