NCIS: Origins fans are over the moon as CBS has confirmed the latest crime-busting spin-off has been renewed for a full spin-off. The new prequel series follows Leroy Jethro Gibbs’ (played by Austin Stowell) first escapades with the NIS in the 1990s as a new agent mentored by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid). His original team includes special agents Lala Dominguez (Mariel Molino) and Vera Strickland (Diany Rodriguez), years before he teamed up with the likes of Timothy McGee (Sean Murray) and Nick Torres (Wilmer Valderrama).

Origins has proven to be a huge success amongst NCIS fans following Mark Harmon’s departure from his iconic role as Gibbs back in 2021. Following the spin-off’s premiere in October this year, it seems like CBS has once again struck gold as NCIS: Origins will be sticking around for the foreseeable future. On Thursday (November 7), the NCISVerse Instagram page shared a photo of Origins’ main cast with the thrilling announcement.

“Get ready to keep showing up to the bullpen because #NCISOrigins is officially renewed for a FULL SEASON!” the caption confirmed. “Meet you and the gang back at Camp Pendleton on CBS Monday.” Fans went wild in the comments, sharing their excitement for more episodes coming next year.

“Stoked!!” one viewer exclaimed. “This show, the story lines, and this cast are great. Season one so far is insane!! “It’s like watching a movie compacted into an hour!! Tell me I’m wrong?? Can’t wait for season two!!” “AHHH SCREAMING SO HAPPY,” another ecstatic viewer replied.

A third commented: “Love this show!! Keep them coming”, and another added, “Great show and seeing the backstory is really fulfilling.” Someone else demanded: “They need MULTIPLE seasons!!! This is now one of my favorites.” “LOVE this show and I LOVE Robert Taylor playing a young Gibb’s father!! Perfect fit!” another remarked.

And a final fan said: “I wasn’t ready for how GOOD this show is. We’ve been on the NCIS train since it originally aired!" They then admitted: “NCIS now had become boring to be honest this one is KILLIING it. Can’t wait!” If fans continue to switch over to this fresher entry in the NCIS franchise, Origins could well be on air for some time.
