The NBA All-Star Weekend isn't until Feb. 15, 2025. However, the league is seemingly making plans for the highly anticipated weekend that features the league's top players.
There is a chance the NBA switches up how the All-Star teams are picked, as it's gone from East vs. West to a draft. But the league continues to find creative ways to keep fans interested in the mid-season event.
In 2024, the league crossed over with the WNBA after bringing in New York Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu to challenge future Hall of Famer Stephen Curry in a three-point challenge. It was the first time we witnessed an NBA-WNBA three-point challenge in basketball history. Curry won the event 29-26.
Rumors are the NBA wants to do the same three-point challenge again in 2025. During a guest visit on "The Pat McAfee Show," ESPN's Shams Charania claimed "there are efforts being made" for a Caitlin Clark vs. Klay Thompson three-point competition during All-Star Weekend.

Both players would have five racks with five balls to make as many three-pointers as possible in a set amount of time. Additionally, each rack would feature a "money ball" that would be worth two points.
Clark would likely use WNBA regulated basketballs and shoot from the WNBA three-point line, while Thompson would follow suit with the NBA's basketball size and three-point line distance. 3 steals per game. Clark broke single season rookie records for points (769), assists (337), and three-pointers made (122). She also broke the record for double-doubles by a rookie guard (14) and became the first ever rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double.
Additionally, Clark led the Fever to their first playoff appearance since 2016. Indiana lost to the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the WNBA Playoffs in a 2-0 sweep. Related: Caitlin Clark and Wilson Basketball Announce Exciting New Product Launch.
