Natagpuan na ang nawawalang FA-50 fighter jet sa Mt. Kalatungan, Bukidnon nitong Miyerkoles. Ang dalawa nitong piloto, hindi nakaligtas, ayon sa Philippine Air Force (PAF).

“The PAF FA-50 aircraft reported missing has been located by ground troops in the vicinity of the Mt. Kalatungan Complex, Bukidnon, today, March 5, 2025,” saad sa pahayag ng PAF. “With deep regret and profound sadness, the PAF announces the loss of the two pilots aboard,” dagdag nito.



Nitong Martes ng madaling araw nang mawalan ng komunikasyon sa FA-50 fighter jet na nagsasagawa noon ng tactical night operation, ayon sa PAF. “Shortly after midnight on March 4, 2025, an FA-50 fighter jet, went missing during a Tactical Night Operations. The aircraft lost communication with the rest of the flight involved in the mission minutes before reaching the target area,” ayon kay Colonel Ma.

Sa tulong ng personal locator beacons ng mga piloto na nagbibigay ng signal, pinuntahan ng mga awtoridad at rescue teams ang posibleng kinaroroonan nila. “Despite challenging conditions, including dense fog and difficult terrain, PAF helicopters successfully deployed Army special forces and civilian volunteers for ground searches,” ayon sa PAF.

Sinabi ni Armed Forces of the Philippines’ Eastern Mindanao Command commander Lieutenant General Luis Rex Bergante, na nakita ang mga piloto sa loob ng eroplano dakong 11 a.m. “We're bringing down' yung cadavers, 'yung aircraft,” anang opisyal.

Idinagdag pa na “totally wrecked” ang fighter jet. Dahil sa insidente, hindi muna pinayagan na makalipad ang mga FA-50 fighter plane habang nagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon. “We are committed to providing all the necessary support to the bereaved families during this difficult time,” ayon sa PAF.
