Spring has sprung and so have lots of beautiful flowers across the UK and a National Trust site near Bolton has been named among the best places to see spring blossom in a list by Country Living. Introducing the list, Country Living said: “Few sights in the British countryside are as uplifting or evocative as boughs heavy with spring blossom. “Starting slowly in late February with sprays of pale blackthorn flowers brightening the winter gloom, the season gathers pace in March with the delicate bridal white of pears, plums and damsons.
Then, in April and May, a multitude of cherry varieties provide a gloriously optimistic promise of warmer months to come.” It listed 10 places to see blossom and in 10th place sits Dunham Massey, a National Trust site in Altrincham that you can drive to from Bolton within less than an hour. At the National Trust's Dunham Massey, these beautiful blooms are beginning to emerge.” It said the Trust commented: “When the leaves return in the warmer months, they are long and oval, toothed with a pointy tip. “The flowers are white and many, with the recognisable dark berries (sloes) to follow.

The cafe and shops are well worth a visit on their own.” This person said: “A National Trust property and area. Spent a wonderful Autumn Sunday afternoon walking through the gardens, parks and forestation.
“Thoroughly enjoyed seeing the local wildlife including some deers and birds. A lovely barn for a spot of lunch before finishing off with locally made ice cream from the Ice Cream shop.”.
