17, the weather cooperated and the gathering, meant to foster a working relationship between the community and law enforcement was a success. The event held behind the municipal center was complete with a D.J.
and hotdogs grilled up by Goose Creek Police Chief LJ Roscoe. In 2023 Safewise has named Goose Creek one of the safest towns in the state. According to the group the numbers are compiled by FBI crime rates.
According to the list Goose Creek came in 8th in front of Clemson and Summerville in 10th. Fort Mill, South Carolina was first. But in latest 2024 release the numbers changed.

The city reports 50 burglaries and 22 firearms related crimes. For the six-month span, according to the agency there were 39 vehicle thefts.
The report shows there were 176 assaults of varying degree and 93 incidents of domestic violence. Also included were vehicle break-ins the police department reports 44 of those. Also in those break-ins it is reported that 18 firearms were taken from the automobiles.
