Nani takes forward Sailesh Kolanu’s HIT franchise. After Vishwak Sen and Adivi Sesh, he is headlining the new installment, HIT: The Third Case. Co-starring Srinidhi Shetty, the crime thriller hits theatres on May 1.
Ahead of its much-anticipated release, the film received its censorship clearance. Reportedly, HIT 3 has been passed for release with an A certificate. Censor woes for HIT 3 The censor board woes didn't end for the makers here.
As per various media reports, HIT: The Third Case had to undergo seven major cuts before getting a go-ahead. Reportedly, the CBFC asked the makers to mute profanities like “f**k,” “deng*i,” and “ch****a”, trim violence and tone down child abuse scenes and politically sensitive content. It is also reported that a uniform burning sequence was also under the radar and had to be modified.
A throat-slitting scene was trimmed due to excessive gore. An OTTPlay report suggested that the censor board had agreed to pass HIT 3 with a U/A certificate, but at the cost of the violence.
The actor and director reportedly refused to change the tone of the film and accepted the A certificate. The runtime of HIT: The Third Case is 2 hours and 37 minutes. The second half of the film promises to show Nani in a different light.
About HIT 3 HIT: The Third Case also stars Komalee Prasad, Adil Pala, Rao Ramesh, Brahmaji, and Maganti Srinath. The film is jointly produced by Wall Poster Cinema and Unanimous Productions. HIT: The Third Case is about Arjun Sarkaar, an SP with the HIT team in Visakhapatnam.
The new case is a high-priority one. Set in Jammu and Kashmir, Arjun is given the responsibility to track down a group of serial killers, who are the masterminds behind a series of brutal murders.
