Nalgonda police arrests Dhar gang leader Mohammed Asraf Khan

Nalgonda: In a major breakthrough, Narketpally and Central Crime Station (CCS) police arrested notorious gang leader and most-wanted criminal Mohammed Asraf Khan on Thursday. Authorities also recovered Rs 25 lakh, stolen from the bag of a passenger on a private travel bus on February 9. Mohammed Asraf Khan, 42, a native of Rallamandal in the Manwar Taulk of Bar district, Madhya Pradesh, has long been a target for law enforcement.

According to superintendent of police Sharath Chandra Pawar, the gang’s modus operandi involved seizing valuables from passenger bags when buses stopped at roadside hotels for breakfast and lunch. The incident occurred when four gang members boarded the bus at Pujitha Hostel in a Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and within five minutes, inspected the bags of all vehicles. The stolen Rs 25 lakh was found in the luggage of passenger Boina Venkateshwarlu, who was en route from Chennai to Hyderabad to deliver the money to a business for a land sale.



During a media conference at the district police office, superintendent Pawar confirmed that a police team had traced Mohammed Asraf Khan to Rallamandal in Madhya Pradesh, and assured that efforts were underway to apprehend the remaining three accused – Lyab Khan, Akram Khan, and Mahbub Khan..
