Naga Chaitanya and Sobhita Dhulipala tied knot in a traditional wedding ceremony on December 4, 2024. Their wedding took place at Annapurna Studios in Hyderabad. The couple recently talked about their first conversation and meeting.
In an interview with The New York Times, the duo revealed that they first met briefly at Nagarjuna’s residence. The actress shared that they first bonded on Instagram. She started following Chaitanya in April 2022 on Instagram and the next day she replied to his Insta stories.
Sobhita shared that the actor posted about a Sushi dish and as she considers herself a foodie, the couple started chatting over a topic. They also bonded over their fondness for their mother tongue Telugu. Naga liked Sobhita’s deep thoughts and the actress enjoyed the attention that her now husband was giving to her by liking her Instagram stories.
Chaitanya also added that he wanted his wife to talk in Telugu always. He said, “So when something pops up that’s very organic and real about a person, I immediately gravitate to that kind of content.” The duo later planned their first date in Mumbai as Sobhita was there in the city for work.
Chaitanya took a flight of an hour to Mumbai from Hyderabad. The actress found it very ‘charming’ and ‘old school’. They then met at the Amazon Prime Video event, from the story kicked off.
Sobhita said, “I was in a red dress, he was in a blue suit, and the rest is history.” The same year they also went on a trip to Bandipur National Park, Karnataka. They spend some quality time there by playing chess and applying henna on each other’s hands.
She also said, “He’s a doer. I’m a be-er. I’m the fluttering kite and he’s the anchor.

The next year, Chaitanya met the actress’ family. In August 2024, Naga proposed to Sobhita in Goa. While talking about their family meeting, Sobhita said “There is alignment, there’s chemistry, there’s curiosity.
And it became obvious that our dissimilarities kept the tension alive in good ways and bad. We definitely wanted each other that much was understood..
