Myanmar-Thailand earthquake: Kiwi hotel manager praised for calm response

A New Zealand man managing hotels in Thailand has been praised for his leadership in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake that hit Myanmar and Thailand on Friday . More than 1600 people have died and many more injured after the shallow 7.7-magnitude quake hit northwest of Sagaing in central Myanmar.

It was followed soon afterwards by a 6.7-magnitude aftershock. AFP reported that at least 139 people are missing in Myanmar and at least 10 deaths have been confirmed in neighbouring Thailand.
