My Secret Auckland: Comedian Alice May Connolly shares her favourite spots in the city

In this Herald on Sunday series, we ask well-known Aucklanders for their favourite spots in the city. This week, comedian Alice May Connolly takes us on a tour of her top places. Favourite beach? At the moment it’s Point Chev, which is handy cos it’s nearby and the sunset is magnificent.

You can lean up against the rock wall which is great if you don’t have the core strength to sit up, and if you hate sand, there’s grass! In saying that, last year I made a 48 Hour Film Festival film with my mates and we turned Blockhouse Bay Beach into somewhere in Finland, which just goes to show the acting range of that beach deserves commendation.
