A North Carolina teen has spent most of her life in foster care placements and is currently living in a group home. She longs for a forever family to take care of her and show her consistent love. November is National Adoption Month, and the Children’s Home Society of North Carolina reports that 15-year-old Lacie would do best in a two-parent home that can focus on her and her needs.

CHS said Lacie’s family would need to be structured and firm all while showing grace and forgiveness. When asked how Lacie describes herself, she said, “I’m funny and kind and sweet and helpful; I love helping people because you never know what they are going through, why not help each other.” Lacie has a selfless spirit and a love for animals.

She said she dreams of becoming a veterinarian when she gets older. “I want to take care of animals, because some people don’t take care of them the right way, so I want to take care of them,” Lacie said. She loves to make people laugh and tell jokes and said she feels the most loved when people are taking care of her.

“I want to take care of kids that don’t have anybody to take care of them, so I want to be a mom one day and adopt some kids, too,” said Lacie. She added how, most of all, she wants her own forever family. “My hope and dream is one day I get adopted because I have been in foster care since I was the age of 4," she said.
