THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actor Baiju has tendered an apology to the public for the car accident that occurred in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. In a video message posted on social media, Baiju stated that he is obligated to follow all laws of the country just like everyone else. He also stated that he does not think that he enjoys any special privilege to escape from the law.

Baiju's words "Some misconceptions and misunderstandings have been circulating on social media regarding my accident on Sunday. It's my responsibility to inform the public about what actually happened. On Sunday, I was driving from Kowdiar to Vellayambalam, maintaining a speed of around 65 kilometres per hour.

I planned to go from Vellayambalam to the Museum area. However, as the car was about to reach Vellayambalam junction, I heard the sound of my front tyre bursting. I lost control of the car.

When I attempted to steer, the car didn't turn, resulting in a collision with a scooter. I immediately got out and checked on the young man and asked him if I should take him to the hospital. However, he declined.

Later, I came to know that the young man didn't suffer any fractures, injuries, or wounds. Additionally, he informed the police station yesterday that he has no complaints. The police didn't favour me in any way.

They have filed a case against me for the mistake I made." "Meanwhile, some reports doing rounds on social media are claiming that I was drunk at the time of the accident. People will read such reports only if they present the facts in a highly exaggerated manner.

Moreover, you saw a video clip which shows me getting angry at a channel reporter. After returning from the hospital, I had to take my car to the police station. The tyre was punctured, so I needed to replace it.

While I was standing there, I saw someone recording a video of me from afar. Since it was dark, I couldn't see the person clearly. That's when I got irritated.

I didn't realize it was a reporter of Asianet in the darkness. I thought someone passing by was recording the video. "I am also obligated to follow all the rules here just like everyone else.

I don't have any special privileges, and I am not someone who thinks that way," Baiju said. "Meanwhile, some reports claimed that a woman was also present in my car at the time of the accident. However, it was actually my maternal aunt's granddaughter who was there with me.

She is of the same age as my daughter. Furthermore, my friend Jomi, who arrived from the UK, was also with me. If my words conveyed through social media came across as arrogant and offended anyone, I apologize to the public," he added.
