Pune: Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday accused the MVA of calling for a social boycott of those voting for the BJP in the assembly poll. In his campaign rally in Bhosari constituency, Fadnavis said, "Congress, NCP (SCP) and Shiv Sena (UBT) have put this election on a different path. They are doing their best to polarise society for political benefits and calling for a social boycott of those who will vote for the BJP.
" He again appealed for 'dharmayudh of votes' to counter ‘vote jihad' and said, "MVA has a sinister plan of picturing Hindus involved in riots and terming Muslims as innocent as it has promised ulemas of withdrawing all riot cases against Muslims since 2012." He added that the Mahayuti schemes like ‘Ladki Bahin' included Muslims as beneficiaries. "We never created a divide but the MVA is trying to cause a religious rift in the state for its political gain," Fadnavis said.
He called NCP (SCP) chief Sharad Pawar and his daughter Supriya Sule ‘owners of the factory of lies'. "He (Pawar) keeps saying that industries are leaving Maharashtra but it is a complete lie. The state attracted 52% of the country's foreign direct investment," he added.
