MUSC welcomes 2025 first newborn

The MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital & Pearl Tourville Women’s Pavilion care team welcomed the first baby of 2025 just after the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day. Baby girl Aaliyah was born at 12:01 a.m.

on Jan. 1 to William and Chardé of Charleston. The newborn weighed 7 pounds, 2.



1 ounces and measured 19.68 inches long. Congratulations went out to the parents of this precious baby.
