GRAFTON, W.Va. (WV News) — A scandalous murder mystery is set to captivate guests at Tygart Lake State Park, where intrigue and excitement await during the park’s upcoming Murder Mystery Weekend Jan.

25-26. Sleuths working to figure out who killed a distillery mogul during Tygart Lake’s Murder Mystery Weekend will be served dinner and breakfast prepared by The Lodge restaurant. Hosted by Tygart Lake State Park, this immersive event invites attendees to become sleuths and uncover the dark secrets behind “Bourbon, Belles and Belladonna!” Guests will step into a gripping tale where a distillery magnate’s fortune is on the line, his wayward son brings home a new fiancée, and the family’s simmering tensions may just lead to murder.



The event begins Saturday evening with a cocktail hour at 5 p.m., followed by dinner at 6 p.

m., featuring a menu prepared in-house by The Lodge restaurant. Guests can savor dishes like beef brisket or chicken marsala, complemented by grilled broccolini, roasted rosemary potatoes, salad, and rolls.

Tygart Lake Lodge will be welcoming guests to an evening of fun, food and murder, during their “Bourbon, Belles and Belladonna!” murder mystery event this weekend. Tickets are on sale now at the front desk. The mystery unfolds in two parts: Saturday night’s main event and Sunday morning’s dramatic conclusion after a buffet breakfast featuring a spread of popular morning favorites.

Whether local or looking for a weekend getaway, attendees have options to join the fun. The Tygart Lake Lodge offers an overnight package for $285, which includes two tickets to the show and all meals. For those who prefer to attend without staying overnight, walk-in tickets are available for $100 per person.

The interactive performance, brought to life by the Murder and Merriment Interactive Mystery Theater Troupe, promises a night of twists, turns, and plenty of surprises.
