Emergency services were called to the Burnbank Centre in Hamilton around 3.50pm on Monday following reports of two men being injured. A 36-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a 59-year-old man was taken to hospital.
Police have confirmed a 56-year-old man has been arrested in connection, and investigations are ongoing. Closures are expected to remain on Whitehill Road and Purdie Street until after midday on Tuesday, and members of the public are asked to avoid the area. Superintendent Richard Taylor, Motherwell poice station, said: “We believe this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
