Mumbai Police has detained a 34-year-old woman on Wednesday following an anonymous call to the control room claiming an assassination plot against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The call was received at 9:13 AM and stated that the weapon was ready for the plan. In a swift action, the police traced the location of the caller's mobile to Andheri before it went off.

Following this, there was heightened alert across the city. A technical investigation helped the authorities trace the woman to the Kandivali area in the evening itself. Amboli Police, led by Senior Inspector Sadashiv Nikam, confirmed that the woman had acted out of frustration with the administrative system and had no links with any criminal organization.

She also did not have a record of serious crimes but was known to have made some minor distress calls to the police control room in the past. Initial assessment had found the Class 12 graduate, who resides alone, to be mentally disturbed. Her phone was recovered, and a formal case has been registered against her.

The police have issued a notice and called her for further questioning to ascertain the intent behind the call and to prevent such incidents from happening again. The authorities stressed the seriousness of the hoax while reiterating the call for responsible use of emergency services. This case has ignited wider debates regarding the need to address mental health challenges while security protocols remain uncompromised.
