Surat: A 36-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a man on the promise of marriage and was blackmailed with her nude videos. The accused contacted the woman, who was separated from her husband, through a matrimonial website . After gaining her confidence, he took Rs 15 lakhs in different transactions.
The man also subjected the woman to unnatural sex, according to the complaint. The woman met the accused, a Bandra resident, in March 2024. Parekh told her that he was a businessman and was ready to marry her.
He raped the woman at her house in the Khatodara area, and in a car in Dumas. He shot videos of the woman while having sex and blackmailed her for money using these videos. In a separate complaint, the Adajan police arrested a 32-year-old man for faking his identity and allegedly raping a 26-year-old woman.
He sent an anonymous message to the woman and identified himself as Deepak Shah. He lured the victim with marriage and raped her at different hotels in Adajan, Rander, and Jahangirpura. The accused is married with two children, while the woman has one child.
