A mother and daughter were ‘absolutely disgusted’ when they found a dead fly and sheet of plastic in their McDonald's burger meal. Jade Altree claimed she ordered the food from the McDonald's in Liverpool Street, Worthing as a treat for her 16-year-old daughter who had just finished a long shift. “Never again,” Jade said.

“How is this acceptable for a meal to not only have one issue but two?" Jade’s daughter opened her order on Wednesday (January 22), ready to eat the double quarter pounder after she ‘hadn’t eaten all day’. But to her shock she found a long sheet of plastic folded underneath the cheese. She could have choked, or God forbid been forced to go to hospital.

“When I explained the situation to McDonald's customer service, they said it was just grease paper they use for cooking. “It’s just not on is it – they said that alongside a generic email of how ‘they're sorry’ and they 'take responsibility for the frustration caused'.” READ MORE: Taco Bell on Brighton's Western Road permanently closed In email correspondence sent by McDonald’s the very next day to Jade, which The Argus has seen, the customer service team apologised for the ‘unpleasant’ incident and said the company take her complaint ‘seriously’.

It’s just rotten, no free meal vouchers are going to change that. “This was not the first instance and for sure it is not the last either; the other week my friend found a dead spider in their sauce. “That Worthing branch is just absolutely disgusting, and it honestly comes across as if they do it on purpose.
