Multiple fire crews called to kitchen fire in Oxford flat

Multiple Oxfordshire fire crews attended a kitchen fire in an Oxford flat last week.

Oxfordshire Council’s Fire and Rescue Service were called on Thursday, September 12 at 2.19pm to a flat on Henry Taunt Close in Oxford. Two fire engines from Rewley Road fire station and one from Kidlington fire station attended the small fire in a ground floor flat kitchen, which was already out by the time fire crews arrived.

Crews used breathing apparatus to check, and then used pressure fans to ventilate the property. The cooking fire is believed to have been accidental and fire and rescue crews left the scene at 15:26. The next day on Friday, September 13 the fire service was called to release a one year old child after they became accidentally locked in car.



Crews were called at 11.30am, sending one fire engine to Harwell, near , using using vehicle access tools to release the child. The child was reported as fit and well and the crew departed the scene at 12:04pm.
