The Enga Provincial Government with its provincial disaster committee has launched the Mulitaka landslide Disaster recovery plan together with the 100 day Mulitaka landslide disaster report. The two events unfolded infront of the Ipatas Centre before a pack crowd witnessed by the members of different stakeholders including the Mulitaka landowners, provincial member sir Peter Ipatas, provincial administrator Sandis Tsaka, Enga Provincial Administration and the International donor agencies on Wednesday. During the launching, Sir Peter said it took the Enga provincial government, the provincial disaster committee and the International donor agencies to compile the 100 days disaster report.

He said the officers of every concerned stakeholders have done a good report since the disaster struck the Mulitaka community on May this year. Sir Peter said every damages to properties ,number of deaths were captured in the report. He also thanked the International donor agencies and partners for their support.



” I am pleased with the level of support that has been given by the partners and stakeholders,” he said. Sir Peter said the provincial government and the disaster committee will work according to the recovery disaster plan to restore the affected mulitaka communities. He said the plan was devised in such a way that will benefit the people for the long run.

“We have a long term plan that will benefit your kids in the future,” he told the affected communities. The provincial member said the Mulitaka people must not expect cash. “We have no cash to give you for your short time pleasures.

“If you have such mentality then you need to correct yourself,” he told them. Sir Peter said the money being raised during the disaster will be used for intended purpose. “We receive both cash and kind but not only cash as some of you might think,” he said.

He brushed aside the negative comments made by some educated elites on social media regarding the mulitaka disaster funds. Sir Peter said everything is in his capable hands. He said every money given by International communities ,donor agencies, the National Government, the provincial governments in different provinces, business houses, companies stakeholders and individuals were recorded.

“We have put everything in the report as we are accountable.”.
