In its ongoing drive ‘yudh nashian virudh’ (war against drugs), Muktsar district police have registered 193 cases and arrested 319 persons under the NDPS Act in the first three months of the ongoing year. The number is significant when compared to the entire year of 2024, during which 348 drug-related cases were registered and 522 people were arrested. Muktsar SSP Akhil Chaudhary said that the rising figures reflected not just stronger enforcement, but also greater public cooperation and intelligence-sharing.
