NEW DELHI: Don-turned politician Mukhtar Ansari ’s son Abbas Ansari , lodged in Kasganj jail in a case under UP Gangster Act , on Friday requested the Supreme Court to allow him attend trial in various cases through virtual mode as he fears he might be killed in a fake encounter if police physically take him to trial courts. For the petitioner, senior advocate Kapil Sibal said his client is worried about his life as the police are now insisting on taking him physically to the trial courts. The bench however sought UP govt’s response to Ansari’s petition seeking bail in an FIR registered in Chitrakoot under the UP Gangster Act. Advocate Nizamuddin Pasha told the court that the UP police have registered as many as 11 cases against Abbas Ansari, of which he has been either granted bail or protected against arrest in 10 cases.
