During a recent interaction, Mukesh explained how the popular comedian ignored him despite his seniority and the respect he has garnered in the industry. Due to this, Mukesh refused to appear on The Kapil Sharma Show for a Mahabharat special episode. Their feud dates back to their encounter at the award function.
The whole issue started at the Gold Awards years ago when Kapil, who was relatively new to the industry, ignored him while sitting beside him for about 20 minutes. Kapil didn't greet Mukesh, even when they were being awarded. While talking about the issue, Mukesh said, The reason I do not like Kapil Sharma and why I refused to go on his show, and that story should serve as an eye-opener to everyone, to understand how the film industry really works.
” Mukesh further added, “At the Gold Awards, I was presented with an award, and Kapil Sharma, who was naya naya paida hua (he was new to the industry) and was doing Comedy Circus, was also being awarded. He came and sat beside me and did not even acknowledge me; he sat there for around 20 minutes, and once his name came up, he took the award and went home. Mukesh felt disrespected by Kapil's behavior, especially since other industry seniors like Amitabh Bachchan and Hrithik Roshan have shown him respect despite not working together.
Mukesh added, I have met Amit ji so many times on flights. I was coming back from London, and so was he. We did not know each other, but he knew that both of us were actors, so we talked.
Hrithik Roshan and I were standing at the airport, and he met me and told me, ‘At this point, there are two superheroes standing at this airport'. Mukesh Khanna also slammed Kapil Sharma for its explicit content, citing double-meaning dialogues and off-color jokes. He declined to appear on the show, not just due to their past issues, but also because of a scene where Kapil wore a Shaktimaan costume, which Mukesh felt disrespected the character's values.
Mukesh Khanna is popularly known for playing Bhisma Pitahmah in Mahabharat. He was recently embroiled in a controversy when she slammed Sonakshi Sinha's 2019 Kaun Banega Crorepati 11 appearance, again. While speaking to media, Mukesh blamed Sonakshi’s father, Shatrughan Sinha, for not being able to remember who the Sanjeevani Booti was for in the Ramayana.
