A 21-year-old woman, Lee Zi Rou, died after a container fell off a trailer and crushed multiple vehicles in Penang on Nov. 13. Footage of the accident showed the container falling off the trailer when it turned, landing on several vehicles at a traffic light, according to The New Straits Times .
The accident involved a total of three cars and two lorries. Another 25-year-old male driver was conveyed to hospital for treatment. Lee was pronounced dead at the scene.
The container was removed by firefighters with two cranes. Called her mother before dying While trapped under the container, Lee used the final moments to call her mother, Lim, The Star reported. Lee's mother then tried calling her daughter again when the call disconnected, but there was no response, China Press reported. Rushed to the scene of her daughter's death Lim said she subsequently tried searching for Lee along the route that she uses to commute to work. When she called her daughter's phone again, a man picked up and told her about what had happened to her daughter.
