MrBeast says he needed '20 accountants' to do his taxes after his company made $473m last year

Jimmy “MrBeast” Donaldson isn’t just making viral videos - he’s also juggling a mind-blowing amount of money. The 26-year-old YouTube creator revealed during a red-carpet interview at the 2025 Breakthrough Prize Awards that handling his earnings has gotten so complicated. “I don’t make much money, but probably like 20, yeah,” MrBeast told The Mirror US with a grin when asked about how many accountants he needed for his annual taxes.

The internet mogul made headlines earlier this year when it was reported that his company made a staggering $473 million in 2024. MrBeast wasn’t alone at the award show; he walked the carpet alongside his fiancee, Thea Booysen, and proudly posted about their appearance on social media. The Breakthrough Prize Awards, often referred to as the Oscars of Science, are known for honoring major achievements in physics, life sciences, and mathematics, awarding winners $3 million each.



On April 6, Donaldson took to X stating, “My beautiful fiancée,” calling her looks his biggest “flex.” MrBeast first announced his engagement to Booysen on New Year’s Day, after dating her since 2022 and going public with the relationship a year later. The reactions online were instant and overwhelmingly positive.

“Love that you're so proud! You both look incredibly happy together—that's the real flex right there,” one fan commented. “That’s a flex in a flex. Congrat @MrBeast,” added another.

Others celebrated the YouTuber’s reputation for philanthropy, noting how his money helps others around the world. “Or 100s of wells in Africa or the fight against slavery in the cocoa industry, etc..

” a follower chimed in. Still, some fans joked that Booysen has her own bragging rights. “And her biggest flex is how rich her fiancé is,” one wrote.

Booysen, 27, is from Cape Town, South Africa, and holds multiple degrees in law, psychology, and neuroscience. She received her Master’s in Human Cognitive Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh last year. The couple met in 2022 during MrBeast’s trip to South Africa.

Booysen is also a content creator. Her YouTube channel, More Than Human, has more than 35,000 subscribers. As for their wedding plans, Donaldson hinted they’re planning to tie the knot on a remote island, according to a recent interview with People.
