After Westbourne Post Office was earmarked for closure, Bournemouth West MP Jessica Toale started a petition to save it. The petition asks residents, "What does Westbourne Post Office mean to you?" After gaining responses, Ms Toale will share them with the Post Office and government officials with the aim of highlighting the need for the branch. As of November 22, the petition had reached around 500 signatures; however as of November 27, it has collected over 1,200.

In a recent statement, Ms Toale called the Post Office "a community hub offering essential community services for the area". In a response to a member of the public, Ms Toale said: "I am committed to ensuring your voice is heard. "As such, I plan to meet with the Post Office to ask them to remove the well-used branch from its at-risk list, as well as relevant Ministers to discuss its future.

"Ahead of this, I’ve launched a petition to show how important this vital service is to the people of Westbourne. "At present, the petition has received more than 1200 signatures, which is fantastic. "This Post Office is a lifeline for many and a crucial part of our high street.
