An MP has visited a growing local company to discuss government plans for regional growth. Christian Wakeford, MP for Bury South, visited Build Chem (Building Chemical Research) in Radcliffe. The company, based on Sion Street, has more than 50 years of experience in the development and manufacture of construction and building products.
The MP met with director Stuart Reich to discuss the government’s plans for driving growth in the region. Christian Wakeford MP and Stuart Reich, director at BCR (Image: Supplied) Christian Wakeford MP said: "The announcement recently by the Chancellor, Rachel Reeves MP, that the National Wealth Fund will trial a Strategic Partnership in Greater Manchester is incredibly welcome news, giving Greater Manchester businesses additional commercial and financial support to boost long-term investment to grow their companies." Mr Reich, director at BCR, introduced the local MP to members of staff like Sam and Lesley who had both worked for the company for a combined 29 years, and to see the operation on the shop floor where products were being mixed and packed for shipping.

"With a workforce of 18 staff and a turnover of more than £8 million, about 15 per cent of our product is exported mainly to the USA but we’d like to make Europe a growth area for the business . "We want to have confidence in order to make those business decisions around investing in certain areas and meeting with Christian, listening to the plans the government has to bring together industry with local and national government to make sure we’re all on the same page is promising.
