Sequels are always challenging and more so when the basic tenets for the introductory movie are humour and out-and-out entertainment By Telangana Today Updated On - 17 September 2024, 05:10 PM – By Nirupama Kodukula The hilarious entertainer Mathuvadalara is back with a sequel helmed by Ritesh Rana. In ‘Mathu Vadalara 2’, in addition to Sunil and Faria Abdullah joining the cast, Sri Simha Koduri, Satya, and Vennela Kishore return from the first film. Sequels are always challenging and more so when the basic tenets for the introductory movie are humour and out-and-out entertainment.

Since the recall of the first movie remains etched in, the sequel has to improve upon and make it livelier and more amusing. To a large extent, Mathu Vadalara 2 succeeds in ensuing this. The first half of the movie is enjoyable and humorous, and it starts off that way.

Every component complements the story’s comedic element nicely. Despite being a follow-up to the first installment, which debuted in 2019, characters are brought into the narrative through a fresh tale. As the second half progresses, it becomes increasingly narrative focused with sporadic comedic moments.

A hilarious climax marks the film’s conclusion. With the characters Yesu and Babu, the film opens with a continuation of the first part. They both start working for the ‘HE’ team of the police and as expected of them, ends up entangled in issues.

There is the right mix of crime, suspense and it really gets laced with fun and humour. The main focus of the story is how they resolved that issue and resume their regular lives. Technical features are passable and product design gives the movie a neat touch.

Songs and background music are both excellent. In terms of the cast, each performer had a strong performance, and Satya, who portrays the characater of Yesu, steals the show with his comic timing and delivery of lines whenever he was on screen. Also, there is some excellent satire that resonates with contemporary situations about a variety of topics, such as fan fights and daily serials.

Overall, this movie moves along nicely, and it closes with a scene that suggests what comes next. The comedy woven throughout the crime tale elevates the film as a whole, despite its foundation in crime. For all those who enjoy comedy films and enjoyment, this is a must-watch.
